Cruise with crooner will boost new arts event

Georgian Queen excursion a fundraiser for ArtWalk Festival

Country singer Karla Crawford will entertain passengers on a wine-and-cheese boat cruise June 25 in support of a new Midland arts event.

The cruise aboard the Georgian Queen is a fundraiser for the ArtWalk Festival, a joint initiative of the Huronia Foundation for the Arts (HFA) and the Downtown Midland Business Improvement Area.

ArtWalk, scheduled for Aug. 22-23, is an outdoor art and music exhibition and sidewalk sale.  Merchants and artists will turn King Street into a party with art, music, activities, contests, patios and sales.

Tickets for the fundraising cruise are $40, which includes the boat tour, entertainment, appetizers and one drink.  There will also be a cash bar.

The boat will leave the Penetanguishene Town Dock at 7 p.m. and arrive back at 10:30 p.m.
